Exciting changes are underway at BCAC! We’re proud to introduce the dedicated individuals who will be guiding our organization forward—an experienced team of officers whose fresh perspectives promise to spark new ideas and strengthen our impact. Please join us as we welcome these inspiring leaders to BCAC.
Each January, Brighton Cultural Arts Commission holds its annual elections, and this year we are pleased to announce three new officers and one returning officer. Please welcome Kathryn (Kitty) LeDonne – Chair, Sonja Brown – Vice Chair, and Warner Losh – Secretary. Please also welcome back Stephanie (Stef) Brown, who’s returning for her third year as Treasurer.
Kitty has studied art history, managed art galleries, restored old paintings, performed archival framing projects, and contributed her artistic services to a variety of causes. Throughout her life, Kitty has been a devoted volunteer and a board member for numerous charitable organizations. As a small business owner and a resident of Brighton for over 18 years, Kitty remains an active community member and has served on the City of Brighton Planning Commission since 2022. We welcome her insights, connections, and leadership skills to BCAC.
Sonja has a bachelor’s degree in interior design and has been a commercial property manager with Wells Fargo Bank since 2003. She has served as a hockey association board member, a board member of an interior design organization, and president of a PTO for a STEM school, and she has served as a BCAC board member since 2023. When she isn’t volunteering or working, Sonja enjoys gardening, arts and crafts, holistic health, hiking, camping, paddle boarding, ice skating, and skiing. BCAC will benefit from Sonja’s energy, enthusiasm, and resourcefulness.
Warner holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and computer science. He is a software engineer with 40 years of professional experience and 25 years of volunteer leadership experience, mostly on governing boards. Warner sees BCAC as the perfect partner for Brighton’s vibrant and creative arts community, and he believes in the power of the arts to unite and strengthen a community, especially in difficult times. We look forward to capitalizing on Warner’s analytical thinking skills as well as his experience in governance and problem solving.
Stef is a fused glass artist at Main Street Gallery in Brighton, where she has lived since 2010. The 2021 recipient of the Brighton Excellence in Arts award for Outstanding Volunteer in Cultural Arts, Stef is very involved in her community. She previously served on the Brighton Public Art Committee and currently serves on the Parks and Recreation Committee, in addition to her role with BCAC. We are thrilled that Stef is willing to share her extensive knowledge and experience with us as our Treasurer.
Finally, we’d like to extend our sincerest gratitude to Wilma Rose, Kathy Wardle, Dolly Garcia, Laurie Maier, and Lindy Olson, who all stepped down from their positions on the BCAC Board of Directors earlier this year. We appreciate their past service and look forward to working with those who have decided to continue to serve in a volunteer role with BCAC.
