Art & History: The Chicano Movement in Denver

September 15 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Learn about the history of the Chicano movement.

Join this workshop with our friends from Museo de las Americas to learn about “El Movimiento” — the vibrant Chicano movement sparked a wave of demands for equality among Denver’s Chicano youth. This movement also ignited an artistic renaissance that inspired social justice change through art.

In this workshop for teens, you’ll discover the power of your own voice and see how a movement in Denver shaped Chicano art and history. Then, channel your inspiration into action by creating a protest sign that reflects a social justice topic you care about.

Appropriate for ages 12 to 17. This program will be hosted in English. Space is limited; Registration required.
